Once inside, he used a kitchen knife to fatally stab 6-year-old Logan as he slept and injured the boy&rsquo;s father and two sisters.<\/p>\n<p>Logan&rsquo;s screams woke his sister Dakota, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mother-two-teen-daughters-stabbed-apartment-middle-night\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stabbed<\/a> in the back and had her head stomped on by Exantus, according to WLEX.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;He didn&rsquo;t just kill my son. He killed every member of my family, every single one of us, and every person that&rsquo;s sitting here today is a completely different person than they were when they went to bed December 6,&rdquo; Logan&rsquo;s mother, Heather Tipton, told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>During his six-day trial in 2018, Exantus&rsquo; attorney said he was insane and committed the attacks while in a state of psychosis, WDRB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wdrb.com\/news\/crime-reports\/man-who-killed-versailles-boy-in-his-bedroom-in-2015-released-early-from-kentucky-prison\/article_12a850ea-483b-4247-8eaf-0b9f9f81df57.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>. He was found not guilty of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/decarlos-brown-jr-speaks-jail-refuses-accept-responsibility-murder-iryna-zarutska\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">murder<\/a> by reason of insanity but guilty of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/video-captured-bloody-attack-pro-lifer-yet-alvin-bragg-let-attacker-go-free-anyway-imagine-roles-reversed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">assaulting<\/a> the other family members.<\/p>\n<p>Exantus was sentenced to 10 years for each second<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/colo-gun-regulation-bills-slated-to-become-law\/\" title=\"Colo. gun regulation bills slated to become law\">-degree assault charge<\/a> and one year for a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >fourth-degree assault<\/a>, according to WKYT.
