Nathan Small, lead sponsor of the spending bill. &ldquo;I want to make sure that we&rsquo;re all thinking of, not hundreds of millions, but billions of dollars of reduced Medicaid support to our state.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>One of the bills allocates $50 million to support rural healthcare across the state, as the state estimated that eight <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/3448991\/weekender-republican-medicaid-cuts-shutter-third-rural-hospitals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rural hospitals were at risk of closure <\/a>under the federal law.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another bill provides increased affordable health insurance coverage to the poorest New Mexicans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3464666\/where-2028-presidential-contenders-visit-early-primary-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>WHERE POSSIBLE 2028 PRESIDENTIAL CONTENDERS ARE GOING AS THEY VISIT EARLY PRIMARY STATES<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The final bill set aside $17 million to ensure federal healthcare subsidies will lapse on New Mexico&rsquo;s Affordable Care Act exchange.
