In Norridge, a Mexican national reportedly rammed an ICE vehicle twice before crashing into a stop sign, while in Bensenville, a Guatemalan national allegedly drove his car at ICE agents during an enforcement operation. Both suspects were arrested. The Department of Homeland Security condemned these violent acts, linking them to increased anti-ICE rhetoric from local politicians, including Chicago’s mayor and Illinois’ governor, which they say has contributed to a more than 1000% rise in assaults on ICE personnel.
