The resolution would keep funding at existing levels &mdash; notably, Democrats voted for a clean continuing resolution 13 times under the Biden administration, Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SenKatieBritt\/status\/1973213515793256523\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Katie Britt<\/a>, R-Ala., pointed out while on Fox News.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-394113487\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The resolution failed to pass the Senate, with just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2025\/09\/30\/congress\/cortez-masto-fetterman-and-king-vote-for-gop-funding-plan-00589113\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">three<\/a> Democrats voting in favor. The resolution needs 60 votes to pass. Another vote is set for Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats proposed a continuing resolution that would add an extra $1.5 trillion in spending, with $500 million to go to outlets like NPR and PBS, a $50 billion cut in investments in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/legal-experts-respond-to-supreme-courts-split-decision-on-vaccine-mandates\/\" title=\"Legal Experts Respond to Supreme Court\u2019s Split Decision on Vaccine Mandates\">rural health care<\/a>, and &ldquo;billions in funding for DEI and climate projects in foreign countries,&rdquo; according to Speaker Mike Johnson&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/mikejohnson.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=2692\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">office<\/a>. Most importantly, however, Democrats resolution would reinstate free health care for illegal aliens.<\/p>\n<p>As Vice President J.D. Vance explained, &ldquo;the Biden administration gave mass parole to millions upon millions of illegal aliens and then they simultaneously made those paroles eligible for health care benefits funded by taxpayers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In the One Big Beautiful Bill President Trump and congressional Republicans turned off that funding for health care to illegal aliens. And Democrats want to turn it back on,&rdquo; Vance explained.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrat-proposal would <a href=\"https:\/\/democrats-appropriations.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/democrats-appropriations.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/cr0917h.PDF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rescind<\/a> Subtitle B in Title VII of the One Big Beautiful Bill which had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finance.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/finance_committee_section-by-section_title_vii5.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">narrowed<\/a> the eligibility of government health care benefits, including Medicare eligibility and premium tax credits, to specific groups: Americans, lawful permanent residents, &ldquo;certain Cuban and Haitian immigrants&rdquo; and &ldquo;Compact of Free Association migrants lawfully residing in the U.S.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The One Big Beautiful Bill <a href=\"https:\/\/medicareadvocacy.org\/impact-of-the-big-bill-on-medicare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">meant<\/a> that certain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-commerce-secretary-is-a-former-venture-capitalist-but-some-gopers-warn-shell-be-soft-on-china\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s Commerce Secretary Is A Former Venture Capitalist, But Some GOPers Warn She\u2019ll Be \u2018Soft On China\u2019\">lawfully present immigrants<\/a> would not be eligible for Medicaid. Lawfully present immigrants includes asylees and parolees. <\/p>\n<p>Rescinding Subtitle B would effectively grant accessibility to some noncitizens &mdash; such as illegal aliens who were granted parole for at least one year under the Biden administration like Nicaraguans and Venezuelans, by removing the specific eligibility language, as Johnson pointed out in an <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SpeakerJohnson\/status\/1973354975179739597\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interview<\/a> with CNN. <\/p>\n<p>Director of Research at the Center for Immigration Studies Steven A. Camarota <a href=\"https:\/\/homeland.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/2025-04-08-OIABSE-JHRG-Testimony.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">testified<\/a> before Congress in April that the Biden administration granted parole status to an estimated 2.8 million &ldquo;otherwise inadmissible aliens.&rdquo; As Camarota testified, parolees may be eligible for certain welfare, including Medicaid. <\/p>\n<p>By rescinding Subtitle B of the One Big Beautiful Bill, Democrats would erase the eligibility limits Republicans put in place. That change would reopen Medicaid and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/studies-medicaid-rolls-improper-payments-expand-hurting-state-budgets\/\" title=\"Studies: ... Rolls, Improper Payments Expand Hurting State Budgets\">taxpayer-funded health benefits<\/a> to parolees.
