Antoni, a 38-year-old economist and former chief economist at the conservative Heritage Foundation, was nominated after Trump fired previous BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer, accusing her of managing “rigged” jobs data. Antoni’s nomination faced controversy, including his presence near the Capitol during the january 6 protest and allegations about a deleted Twitter account with offensive content<\/a>.
