The U.S.Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department and Sheriff Robert Luna for unlawfully delaying the approval of concealed carry weapon<\/a> (CCW) permits. According to the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, over a 15-month period, only two CCW permits where approved out of more than 8,000 applications, with some applicants waiting up to two years for interviews.
