A former chief of staff to Michelle Obama and for a nonprofit run by George W. Bush, Norris says &ldquo;education&rdquo; is one of her top campaign priorities.<\/p>\n<p>Roberts&rsquo; story is yet another demonstration of the complete corruption and inversion of American institutions such as education and immigration. According to ICE, Roberts entered the country on a student visa in 1999. While different records give different birth years for Roberts, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/LauraPowellEsq\/status\/1971811033942839778\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">court records say<\/a> he was born in 1970.<\/p>\n<p>That means Roberts was 29 when he got the student visa. (Athletic records say he was born in 1973, and if that&rsquo;s so he obtained a student visa at 26.) It&rsquo;s of a piece with President Obama&rsquo;s &ldquo;deferred action for child arrivals&rdquo; lawlessness that unilaterally suspended U.S. immigration laws for any illegal entrants who claimed to be children. <\/p>\n<p>That was an invitation for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/document\/data\/active_daca_recipients_fy23_q4.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">half a million people<\/a> to scam Americans by receiving green cards, taxpayer-subsidized benefits such as K-12 schooling, in-state college tuition, scholarships, and even pathways to citizenship, all by claiming they were underage when they were brought here with zero reliable verification that was even true. It also made it easier for these people to make babies on American soil that magically qualify them for numerous welfare programs, such as Medicaid, food stamps, and housing vouchers.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. asylum and refugee programs have also been converted into &ldquo;get into the United States free&rdquo; passes to millions of grifters who did and do not legally qualify. The H1B program is <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/09\/26\/corporate-and-academic-dei-offices-imported-h-1b-workers-to-tell-americans-theyre-racist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">another scam<\/a>, used to import low-wage foreigners to take American jobs.<\/p>\n<h2>U.S. Public Education Has Become a Giant Scam<\/h2>\n<p>The U.S. education system has become yet another set of giant interlocking scams, thanks yet again to Democrat corruption and Republican flaccidity. Republican-run Iowa apparently doesn&rsquo;t even require a verified immigration status for hiring government employees!<\/p>\n<p>Tying the two scams together, an estimated <em>one-quarter<\/em> of U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/thousands-of-marginalized-students-are-missing-from-virtual-learning\/\" title=\"\u2018Thousands\u2019 Of Marginalized ...s Are Missing From Virtual Learning\">public school enrollment<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/05\/nearly-one-quarter-of-u-s-public-school-enrollment-could-be-anchor-babies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">is comprised of anchor babies<\/a>, consuming some $150 billion in taxpayer dollars <em>every year<\/em> solely for the K-12 tuition costs of failing to enforce U.S. immigration laws. Money is a big reason numerous massive public school systems have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/immigration\/public-schools-undocumented-students-trump-immigration-raids-rcna189466\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">publicly declared<\/a> they will harbor fugitive immigration criminals from U.S. law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>At even just the most fundamental instructional level, U.S. taxpayers pay <a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2024\/public-school-spending-per-pupil.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an average of<\/a> $17,000 per K-12 student per year while <em>four in five <\/em>twelfth-grade students <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpolicy.org\/publications\/detail\/naep-2024-american-students-score-historic-lows-in-math-reading-science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">score below proficient<\/a> in math and reading. We have &ldquo;historic lows&rdquo; of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >student achievement amid record spending<\/a> in public schools.<\/p>\n<p>This national pattern holds in Des Moines. Des Moines schools <a href=\"https:\/\/nces.ed.gov\/ccd\/districtsearch\/district_detail.asp?Search=2&amp;DistrictID=1908970&amp;ID2=1908970&amp;details=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">spend <\/a>$17,000 per student, while its students score <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaschoolperformance.gov\/ECP\/StateDistrictSchool\/DistrictSummary?k=9294&amp;y=2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">significantly below state averages<\/a> on tests, with approximately <em>half <\/em>below proficient in math and reading (and state tests have long set low bars for achievement to avoid embarrassing the system). One in seven Des Moines students is &ldquo;chronically absent,&rdquo; which means skips school <em>at least 18 days per school year <\/em>with zero excuse such as a doctor&rsquo;s appointment or illness.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Des Moines schools&rsquo; current &ldquo;strategic plan,&rdquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/reimagine.dmschools.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/DMPS-Strategic-Plan.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">released in January<\/a> by Superintendent Roberts, lists as priority No. 1 &ldquo;Cultivating Equity &amp; Excellence Through High Quality Teaching &amp; Learning.&rdquo; It makes &ldquo;equity&rdquo; equal to &ldquo;excellence,&rdquo; but &ldquo;equity&rdquo; inherently destroys excellence, as it rewards and punishes people based on identity rather than merit.<\/p>\n<p>Des Moines&rsquo; strategic plan says the district hired an organization called New Leaders &ldquo;to lead the development of the DMPS Strategic Plan.&rdquo; New Leaders specializes in hiring and promoting people based on skin color. That is not only unconstitutional under the Fourteenth Amendment, but flatly illegal under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcci.com\/article\/gov-kim-reynolds-signs-sweeping-dei-restrictions-into-law\/64910575\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a new Iowa law<\/a> banning DEI that went into effect in July. Looks like Iowa&rsquo;s attorney general needs to start enforcing this law against an obviously rogue school district run by incompetents.<\/p>\n<div>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Des Moines school board <a href=\"https:\/\/go.boarddocs.com\/ia\/dmschools\/Board.nsf\/Public\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">minutes <\/a>from their March 26, 2024 meeting say Roberts &ldquo;recommends that the Board approve New Leaders Organization as the vendor for the District Strategic Plan.&rdquo; New Leaders <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newleaders.org\/news-press#:~:text=NPR%20features%20Dr.%20Ian%20Roberts%2C%20New%20Leaders,his%20commitment%20to%20student%20and%20community%20engagement.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">says on its website<\/a> several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newleaders.org\/blog\/self-reflection-and-leadership-create-a-healthier-and-happier-school-culture-by-looking-within\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">times <\/a>that Roberts is an alumnus of its programs, and that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newleaders.org\/blog\/what-does-resilient-district-leadership-look-like-in-action\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">he was an alumnus while<\/a> a Pennsylvania superintendent.<\/p>\n<div>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>So New Leaders credentialed Roberts, an apparent fraudster, and he essentially paid them back with a public contract. (Neither news reports, nor school board documents, nor New Leader&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.prod.website-files.com\/61b0e0e7cf389b116afdcabf\/66430b554184783fff1639e1_Public%20Disclosure%20-%20Form%20990.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tax records<\/a> appear to disclose how much Des Moines paid New Leaders for &ldquo;strategic plan development,&rdquo; and the district acknowledged but did not respond to a query about the matter.)<\/p>\n<h2>Identity Politics Is the Public School Operating System<\/h2>\n<p>The district&rsquo;s strategic plan also says &ldquo;high-quality teaching&rdquo; means &ldquo;Teachers use evidence-based, culturally responsive instructional strategies to deliver grade level content.&rdquo; In fact, the strategic plan<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/CrOHH\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> is Marxism all the way down<\/a>, relying on skin color over knowledge to hire and train teachers, discipline students, and more. Roberts&rsquo; &ldquo;executive cabinet,&rdquo; or top staffers, proclaim &ldquo;Equity and Justice&rdquo; is one of their top three &ldquo;core values.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/defendinged.org\/investigations\/iowa-affirmative-action-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">February report<\/a> from Defending Education shows Marxist instruction and hiring practices like these are endemic in Iowa public schools. This kind of value system promotes total frauds like Roberts and thereby ensures the exact opposite of academic excellence. We can know that because U.S. public schools have been implementing cultural Marxist slop like this for 70-plus years, and getting worse the entire time. That&rsquo;s not a coincidence. There&rsquo;s a direct correlation between ideologically driven instruction and student stupidity.<\/p>\n<p>As we all know, it&rsquo;s not just Des Moines, either. Scamming kids and taxpayers with crap instruction is pervasive nationwide. Even though Iowa is technically run by Republicans, they allow Iowa schools to be run largely by educrats who share the same grifter diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) ideology that catapulted Roberts into $1 million in taxpayer sinecures on the basis of his skin color. <\/p>\n<p>Here&rsquo;s another case in point. The woman <em>still <\/em>running Iowa&rsquo;s revamp of its entire social studies instruction, Stefanie Wager, is, like Roberts, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/03\/04\/big-dei-booster-revamping-k-12-history-curriculum-in-republican-run-iowa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">yet another massive DEI booster<\/a>. As I reported in March, &ldquo;Her professional affiliations publicly proclaim that the United States&rsquo; founders and founding documents are inherently bigoted and in need of Marxist reframing.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Wager is not only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nas.org\/blogs\/article\/letter-public-comment-on-iowas-draft-social-studies-standards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">failing to deliver<\/a> the America-positive education Iowa&rsquo;s laws require, she influences the curriculum and tests all across the nation as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialstudies.org\/about\/stefanie-wager\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an employee of<\/a> the American Institutes for Research. AIR is a massive testing and curriculum contractor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialstudies.org\/conference\/vital-issues-panels\/identifying-high-quality-instructional-materials-social-studies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">with woke employees<\/a> that taxpayers pay hundreds of millions. AIR is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaspending.gov\/award\/CONT_AWD_75R60224F34001_7526_75R60224D00021_7526\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">also heavily funded<\/a> by the federal government.<\/p>\n<h2>The Point of a System Is What It Produces<\/h2>\n<p>Iowa is completely run by Republicans, and <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Party_control_of_Iowa_state_government\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>has been for nine years<\/em><\/a>. At this point, public schools graduating kids who support Black Lives Matter but can&rsquo;t name one item on the Bill of Rights or even friggin&rsquo; read at grade level is Republicans&rsquo; fault, not Democrats&rsquo;.<\/p>\n<p>The point is, Roberts&rsquo; wild story is not a one-off. Perhaps he&rsquo;s a bit more theatrical in the way he has scammed Americans, but the entire system that promoted, paid, celebrated, rewarded, and is incredibly defending this con artist is itself a massive scam machine. He&rsquo;s the inevitable product of a system the Left has built for rewarding people for pushing hateful, un-American ideology at public expense and punishing excellence.<\/p>\n<p>That&rsquo;s why Democrats are protesting his arrest. Because if they admitted Roberts is an unqualified scam artist, they&rsquo;d be admitting the entire political infrastructure they control is designed to produce and reward scam artists like him, at the expense of Americans.
