The New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police (NJFOP),a major police union<\/a> with over 16,000 members,has endorsed Republican Jack Ciattarelli for governor. This marks a shift from the union’s previous support for Democrat Phil Murphy in his 2017 gubernatorial campaign. Ciattarelli welcomed the endorsement,emphasizing his commitment to supporting law enforcement<\/a>,improving recruitment and morale,and protecting police pensions-an issue that helped secure the union’s backing of Murphy in 2016.
