“The U.N. is supposed to stop invasions — not create them, and not finance them,” Trump said. “In the United States, we reject the idea that mass numbers of people from foreign lands can be permitted to travel halfway around the world, trample our borders, violate our sovereignty, cause unmitigated crime, and deplete our social safety net.”<\/p>\n

He contrasted his administration’s sharp course correction to the continued mass migration<\/a> in Western Europe, saying the continent is in “serious trouble.”<\/p>\n

“[Europe has] been invaded by a force of illegal aliens like nobody’s ever seen before. Illegal aliens are pouring into Europe and nobody’s doing anything to change it, to get them out,” Trump told the gathering of diplomats. “It’s not sustainable, and because they choose to be politically correct, they’re doing just absolutely nothing about it.”<\/p>\n

Trump drew particular attention to London, where he just had a state visit with King Charles III<\/a>. He said the city has “so changed” that arriving Muslim immigrants are seeking to “go to Sharia law.”<\/p>\n

Trump went on to cite 2024 statistics from the Council of Europe<\/a> that found that the majority of inmates in Germany, Austria, Greece, and Switzerland were from foreign countries. He said the trends of mass immigration will contribute to the “death of Western Europe if something is not done immediately.”<\/p>\n

“I’m the president of the United States, but I worry about Europe. I love Europe, I love the people of Europe,” Trump said, ultimately warning, “It’s time to end the failed experiment of open borders. You have to end it now […] I can tell you. I’m really good at this stuff — your countries are going to hell.”<\/p>\n

Despite his repeated affirmations of love and affection, Trump did not withhold harsh condemnations of Europe’s energy policy.<\/p>\n

Europe ‘funding’ Ukraine war<\/h2>\n
Turning his attention to the Russian invasion of Ukraine<\/a>, Trump expressed discontent with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s continued refusal<\/a> to participate in meaningful ceasefire negotiations.<\/p>\n
He pointed a finger at China and India as the “primary funders of the ongoing war” for their uninterrupted purchase of Russian oil.<\/p>\n
“But inexcusably, even NATO countries have not cut off much Russian energy and Russian energy products,” Trump said. “Which, as you know, I found out about two weeks ago &mdash<\/a>; and I wasn’t happy.”<\/p>\n
“Think of it,” he continued. “They’re funding the war against themselves. Who the hell ever heard of that one?”<\/p>\n
Trump promised to bring Putin to the negotiating table and “stop the bloodshed” by deploying “a very strong round of powerful tariffs.”<\/p>\n
“But for those tariffs to be effective, European nations, all of you are gathered here right now, would have to join us in adopting the exact same measures,” he warned.<\/p>\n
The European Union<\/a> has implemented several rounds of sanctions on Russian energy and imports since the invasion began three years ago. This has resulted in a 89% drop in imports from the Eastern European nation.<\/p>\n

However, the EU has continued to purchase key resources<\/a> from Russia, including oil<\/a>, natural gas, steel, and fertilizer, due to insufficient supply trains from alternative sources.<\/p>\n
During his speech, Trump announced that he would meet with European leaders on the sidelines of the conference to discuss minimizing this reliance and applying further pressure on Moscow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
