Among these projects, six high-value proposals account for $825 million in investment and 22 new jobs. Notably, two major projects are confirmed: a $5.8 billion Hyundai steel plant and a $4 billion ammonia facility by CF Industries, which is expected to be the largest of its kind globally.<\/p>\n

since 2006, Ascension Parish has attracted over $27.2 billion in capital investments and generated 5,508 direct new jobs, largely supported by the Gulf Coast chemical industry. The parish ranks consistently among the top U.S. counties for per capita business investment and boasts the highest household income<\/a> in Louisiana. Its growth is driven by job expansion and a strong public school system.<\/p>\n

Efforts continue to promote the 17,000-acre RiverPlex Mega Park and eight certified industrial sites to attract new businesses. Petrochemical companies, as the largest taxpayers, have significantly contributed to local economic growth<\/a> thru expansions and ongoing investments. For fiscal year 2025, tax revenues form about 56% of the parish’s budget, which also reflects increased spending on employee health insurance and personnel.
