And that statement could not be more applicable to The Economist. <\/p>\n<p>Late last week, the U.K.-based outlet ran a <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.md\/Mv1xF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">story<\/a> attempting to run cover for the spate of leftist-led violence wreaking havoc across the United States. To accomplish this feat, the piece highlighted several &ldquo;studies and datasets &hellip; largely compiled by researchers whom s[k]eptical conservatives would probably dismiss as biased&rdquo; to &ldquo;suggest that the killing of Mr Kirk is not representative of broader trends.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1561629576\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>And whom, may you wonder, is among these esteemed &ldquo;researchers&rdquo; cited by The Economist? None other than the University of Cincinnati&rsquo;s Michael Loadenthal, a radical leftist who previously disclosed his affiliation with the left-wing militant group <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/tag\/antifa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Antifa<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>As Eoin Lenihan previously <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/01\/meet-the-violent-anarchist-behind-dhss-pyramid-of-far-right-radicalization-scandal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> in these pages, &ldquo;In 2021, Loadenthal spoke at a &lsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mc6tFQMnL14\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">White Nationalism Workshop<\/a>&lsquo; and an &lsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nRbXNvwSROE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Extremism, Rhetoric and Democratic Precarity<\/a>&lsquo; roundtable at [Dayton] University&rsquo;s &lsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/udayton.edu\/artssciences\/ctr\/hrc\/calendar\/extremism-roundtable.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Social Practice Of Human Rights Conference<\/a>.&#8217;&rdquo; It was during the former event, Lenihan noted, that &ldquo;Loadenthal introduced himself by stating that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EoinLenihan\/status\/1662548046582874113?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">he is militant Antifa<\/a>; he then continued his talk by teaching audience members&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EoinLenihan\/status\/1662553191035072517?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">how to securely dox people<\/a>&nbsp;to their employers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Throughout the talk he framed his work in explicitly &lsquo;antifascist&rsquo; terms, explaining how he employs &lsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EoinLenihan\/status\/1662559829586526213?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">antifascist intelligence<\/a>&lsquo; to dox individuals online and in real life,&rdquo; Lenihan wrote. <\/p>\n<p>In its article, The Economist noted Loadenthal&rsquo;s work on the &ldquo;Prosecution Project,&rdquo; which purportedly &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >analyses felony criminal cases involving political violence<\/a> to see which ideologies are most common,&rdquo; according to the outlet. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-nevada-a-corrupt-cash-for-votes-scheme-is-hiding-in-plain-sight\/\" title=\"In Nevada, A Corrupt Cash-For-Votes Scheme Is Hiding In Plain Sight\">project&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s data ostensibly &ldquo;show[s] that extremists on both left and right commit violence, although more incidents appear to come from right-leaning attackers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>As 1776 Project PAC founder Ryan James Girdusky recently <a href=\"https:\/\/natpop.substack.com\/p\/how-the-left-manipulates-data-on\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">observed<\/a>, however, the Prosecution Project&rsquo;s &ldquo;data&rdquo; appears highly questionable (if not flat out inaccurate), as it &ldquo;ties in people with no political affiliations to conservatives or political motives to make the case that right-wingers are responsible for an overwhelming number of politically motivated crimes.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You know what wasn&rsquo;t counted as politically motivated violence&hellip; almost any of the arson, rapes, and murders from BLM and Antifa activists during the 2020 summer of love. Burning the police station in Minneapolis, the rape and assaults in the CHAZ zone, or the six deaths associated with the trans cult, the Zizians,&rdquo; Girdusky wrote. &ldquo;Left-wing violence isn&rsquo;t violence, while anyone can be considered rightwing violence, even if it isn&rsquo;t right-wing or particularly violent.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Shawn Fleetwood is a staff writer for The Federalist and a graduate of the University of Mary Washington.
