\t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aol.com\/articles\/jerry-nadler-gets-charlie-kirk-154837277.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Daily Caller<\/a>, the moment occurred when Nadler was questioning Patel and cited a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/09\/16\/us\/politics\/trump-kirk-free-speech-hate-speech-left.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Times report<\/a> claiming President Donald Trump&rsquo;s administration is using Kirk&rsquo;s assassination last week as a pretext to crack down on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/justice-thomas-suggests-section-230-may-be-unconstitutional\/\" title=\"Justice Thomas Suggests Section 230 May Be Unconstitutional\">free-speech rights<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Politicizing the murder of Charlie King to go after free speech is not a legacy I believe Charlie King would have wanted,&rdquo; Nadler said.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie <em>King<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p>Charlie Kirk &mdash; it&rsquo;s <em>Kirk<\/em>, Congressman Nadler &mdash; has been a recognizable name in political circles since he founded the organizing group <a href=\"https:\/\/tpusa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Turning Point USA<\/a> in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Among Democrats, he&rsquo;s been a bogeyman since well before he helped Trump win the 2024 presidential election with his on-campus activism.
