Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has announced his candidacy for governor in the 2026 election, joining a competitive Republican primary field. Raffensperger gained national attention for resisting former President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn Georgia’s 2020 presidential election results<\/a>, which led to criticism from Trump and his supporters. Despite this,Raffensperger pledges to run a strongly conservative campaign focused on upholding the law and Constitution,lowering taxes,creating jobs,and emphasizing election security.<\/p>\n
