Rose Pugliese,the Colorado House Minority Leader and top Republican in the Colorado House,resigned from her position following a controversy involving<\/a> a secretly taken photograph of a Democratic lawmaker. The image, taken without the lawmaker’s knowledge by former Republican state Rep. Ryan Armagost, was circulated among Republican legislators and led to a social media<\/a> harassment campaign targeting<\/a> the Democratic representative. Although Pugliese was part of the group chat where the photo was shared and discussed, she did not contribute to the derogatory comments and later removed Armagost from his committee roles three months after becoming aware of the incident. Citing her role as a single mother and the need to focus on her children, Pugliese announced her resignation after recent clashes with Democratic lawmakers and personal reflection on her priorities. She had been elected House Minority Leader in 2024 following the resignation of her predecessor, Mike Lynch. Additionally, Colorado Senate Minority Leader Paul Lundeen also resigned earlier<\/a> in the year for a new position at a conservative institution.
