Earlier in the year, Republicans in Congress included a provision to defund Planned Parenthood in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-graham-warns-biden-against-changing-rules-to-pass-covid-stimulus\/\" title=\"Sen. Graham warns Biden against changing rules to pass COVID stimulus\">major spending bill<\/a>, which President Trump signed into law. Planned Parenthood sued, arguing that cutting federal funding was unlawful and would threaten the operation of nearly 200 planned Parenthood facilities.<\/p>\n<p>A federal judge initially ordered the administration to halt enforcement of the defunding policy for one year, extending the injunction to cover multiple Planned Parenthood affiliates. Though, the appeals court ruled that the Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services were entitled to stay the injunctions, allowing the funding cut to proceed.<\/p>\n<p>This action will end approximately $800 million in taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood for the 2023-2024 period, during which the institution reported a record number of abortions. Critics accuse Planned Parenthood of wasting taxpayer dollars, violating laws, providing controversial treatments to minors, and engaging in unethical practices.Pro-life leaders praised the court&#8217;s decision, emphasizing the public&#8217;s rejection of funding an industry responsible for over one million abortions annually and urging support for more accessible and comprehensive alternatives to Planned Parenthood.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Trump administration will move forward with its plans to defund Planned Parenthood after the 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals lifted two preliminary injunctions that aimed to hamper the tax dollar withdrawal.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans in Congress first moved to defund Planned Parenthood earlier this year via a provision in the Big Beautiful Bill. Shortly after a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/07\/01\/vp-vances-tiebreaker-vote-helps-senate-pass-bill-defunding-planned-parenthood-for-one-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tiebreaker vote<\/a> sent the legislation to President Donald Trump&rsquo;s desk to be signed into law in July, Planned Parenthood sued the administration. The abortion giant claimed the cessation of federal funding was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2025\/07\/03\/congress\/planned-parenthood-trump-lawsuit-00439702\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;unlawful&rdquo;<\/a> and would put nearly 200 Planned Parenthood facilities at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2025\/07\/03\/congress\/planned-parenthood-trump-lawsuit-00439702\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">risk of closure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On July 21, a district court, led by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/07\/28\/us\/politics\/planned-parenthood-medicaid-trump.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Democrat-nominated federal judge<\/a>, demanded that the administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/26089904-ppfavkennedyca1091125\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">halt<\/a> from &ldquo;enforcing, retroactively enforcing, or otherwise applying&rdquo; the policy designed to strip Planned Parenthood&rsquo;s stream of taxpayer dollars for one year. The court also ordered the administration to &ldquo;take all steps necessary to ensure that Medicaid funding continues to be disbursed in the customary manner and time frames to Planned Parenthood Association of Utah and other Planned Parenthood Federation of America [m]embers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In a second preliminary injunction issued less than a week later on July 28, the district court expanded the order beyond Planned Parenthood Association of Utah and Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. to include Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, and &ldquo;all other members&rdquo; of the abortion giant&rsquo;s network.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/26089904-ppfavkennedyca1091125\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">court order<\/a>, posted on Thursday, however, declared that Trump&rsquo;s Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services had adequately demonstrated their &ldquo;entitlement to a stay&rdquo; and need not heed the injunctions any longer.<\/p>\n<p>The greenlight means the nearly $800 million in taxpayer funds <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/21\/02\/2102bd3b-92cc-405a-8abd-0cf144a88846\/2024-ppfa-annualreport-c3-digital.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">collected<\/a>&nbsp;by Planned Parenthood during the 2023-2024 period, in which Planned Parenthood performed a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/05\/13\/annual-report-planned-parenthood-aborted-more-babies-than-ever-got-more-taxpayer-cash-than-ever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">record number of abortions<\/a>, will no longer be available to the abortion business. <\/p>\n<p>Historically, Planned Parenthood&rsquo;s steady stream of taxpayer funding sustained its widespread effort to end unborn lives (or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2013\/02\/07\/probe-demanded-of-planned-parenthood-doc-who-killed-woman-in-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">botching its attempts to<\/a>&nbsp;do so),&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2016\/06\/24\/new-evidence-planned-parenthood-broke-federal-law-lied-to-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allegedly flout federal law<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/plannedparenthood-profit-no-matter-what.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">waste tax dollars<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/gender\/commentary\/dont-defend-planned-parenthoods-gender-affirming-care-defund-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dispense castrating drugs<\/a>&nbsp;to confused minors, reportedly&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/11\/22\/report-planned-parenthood-caught-selling-viable-fetuses-to-university-of-california-san-diego\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">traffic baby<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/04\/15\/new-unsealed-documents-show-planned-parenthood-profited-from-aborted-baby-body-parts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">body parts,<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/20\/want-to-know-who-is-really-empowered-by-abortion-sex-traffickers-and-abusers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">enable abusers<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/florida-investigation-of-planned-parenthood-clinics-finds-deficiencies-1438817376\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allegedly perform unlicensed<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2016\/01\/29\/planned-parenthood-breaks-state-law-to-open-unlicensed-abortion-clinic-in-kentucky\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">procedures<\/a>&nbsp;and violate&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/archive\/9059172\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">health<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/02\/15\/us\/planned-parenthood-clinics.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">safety standards<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stlpr.org\/politics-issues\/2018-02-23\/protest-buffer-zone-at-st-louis-planned-parenthood-narrowly-earns-first-round-approval#stream\/0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/erickson-american-evangelicalisms-critical-theory-problem\/\" title=\"ERICKSON: American Evangelicalism\u2019s Critical Theory Problem\">oppose free speech<\/a><\/a>, and allegedly conducting procedures that have resulted in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2012\/10\/09\/deaths-at-planned-parenthood-show-no-concern-for-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mothers&rsquo;
