Kennedy Jr. in June <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/26\/hhss-new-vaccine-board-to-look-into-cumulative-effects-of-vaccines-for-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;a systematic review of the current vaccine schedule and guidance to schools concerning vaccine requirements for attendance in order to &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/press-room\/wsj-kennedy-op-ed-restore-public-trust-in-vaccines.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">restore public trust in vaccines<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Most Americans <a href=\"https:\/\/hsph.harvard.edu\/news\/poll-amid-multi-state-measles-outbreak-79-of-americans-support-routine-childhood-vaccine-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">support vaccines<\/a>, according to a June survey by Harvard University and the de Beaumont Foundation. However, fewer now consider them to be important, with 40 percent in 2024 saying they are &ldquo;extremely important&rdquo; in 2025, down from 58 percent in 2019 to, according a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/648308\/far-fewer-regard-childhood-vaccinations-important.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gallup<\/a>&nbsp;poll.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Current Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>Florida currently requires all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.floridahealth.gov\/programs-and-services\/immunization\/children-and-adolescents\/school-immunization-requirements\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">K-12<\/a>&nbsp;students to be vaccinated in order to get an education, with daycare and preschool entry requiring seven vaccines and kindergarten through 12th grade requiring 16 vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/hcp\/imz-schedules\/child-adolescent-age.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">currently recommends<\/a> 25 vaccine injections by the time a child is two. By the time a child is 18, they&rsquo;ve had about 50 injections. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ladapo said people might criticize Florida&rsquo;s move as immoral because of the risk unvaccinated people could cause to others &mdash; a similar guilt trip was used during the Covid-19 lockdowns.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;There is no ethical basis for that to be used as a reason to take away your ability to choose what you want to put in your body,&rdquo; he said during the announcement last week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The latest rhetoric from Florida&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-surgeon-general-discusses-how-to-end-this-pandemic-equitably\/\" title=\"Former Surgeon General Discusses How To \u2018... This Pandemic Equitably\u2019\">surgeon general<\/a> is refreshing after the Covid-19 vaccine, or &ldquo;poison,&rdquo; as Ladapo called the mRNA Covid-19 vaccines.<\/p>\n<h2>FDA Chief Acknowledges Risk<\/h2>\n<p>The Covid-19 vaccine was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uclahealth.org\/news\/article\/the-fastest-vaccine-in-history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fastest created in history<\/a> and was distributed to Americans in under a year; vaccine development usually takes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/basics\/how-developed-approved.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">10-15 years<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The FDA&rsquo;s Marty Makary said the agency is investigating how many American children died due to the Covid vaccine and will release a report in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Although there are always risks with vaccines, kids are &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2025\/09\/04\/health\/video\/the-lead-marty-makary-health-rfk-jr-hhs-congress-hearing-jake-tapper\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">especially at risk<\/a>&rdquo; with the Covid-19 vaccine, because young healthy men are at a higher risk for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/myocarditis\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20352539\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">myocarditis<\/a>, Makary <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DrMakaryFDA\/status\/1963945207910830081\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>&nbsp;on CNN last week.<\/p>\n<h2>Doctor Dissents<\/h2>\n<p>&ldquo;We don&rsquo;t have honest data on all the shots. And we know other communities, the Amish being the most famous, are healthier without the shots,&rdquo; Dr. Simone Gold, a lawyer, medical doctor, and founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/americasfrontlinedoctors.org\/about-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">America&rsquo;s Frontline Doctors<\/a>, a medical and political advocacy organization, said in an interview. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With so many vaccines required at the school level, Dr. Gold says it is hard to say whether the vaccines are truly a &ldquo;public health measure.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She also said that requiring vaccines violated informed consent laws. State laws say &ldquo;you have to get a person&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mcmahon-talks-school-trans-coercion-with-detransitioners\/\" title=\"McMahon Talks School Trans Coercion With Detransitioners\">informed consent&#038;rdquo<\/a>; before treating them, Dr. Gold said.<\/p>\n<p>As Ladapo said during the announcement, you can&rsquo;t make the world better &ldquo;by enslaving people in terrible philosophies and taking away people&rsquo;s freedoms.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Abigail Nichols is a correspondent for The Federalist.
