Kennedy Jr. didn&rsquo;t blink when asked about the rise of school shootings on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The question was loaded and meant to trap him into blaming guns. Kids brought guns to school and were encouraged to do so, and nobody was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/video-demonic-trans-shooter-rampaged-faithful-big-kids-protected-little-ones-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">walking into schools and shooting people<\/a>,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>It was a blunt reminder that the American culture around firearms used to be very different.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy said something shifted in the 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;re having mass shootings every 23 hours,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>He compared the U.S. to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/switzerland-practices-wartime-maneuver-first-time-decades\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Switzerland<\/a>, where gun ownership is also widespread.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Switzerland has a comparable number of guns as we do, and the last mass shooting they had was 23 years ago,&rdquo; Kennedy said.<\/p>\n<p>He then offered possible explanations for what went wrong.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;There are many things that happened in the 1990s that could explain these,&rdquo; Kennedy said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;One is the dependence on psychiatric drugs, which in our country is unlike any other country in the world,&rdquo; he added.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">WATCH: Kennedy is asked a tough question about why &ldquo;looking at firearms&rdquo; wasn&rsquo;t included in the MAHA report.<\/p>\n<p>He answered her question with class and grace, and you could hear a pin drop as the room hung on Kennedy&rsquo;s every word:<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We had comparably the same number of guns[whenI&hellip;[whenI&hellip;<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oF4kBzFR9x\">pic.twitter.com\/oF4kBzFR9x<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Vigilant Fox &#129418; (@VigilantFox) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VigilantFox\/status\/1965510416836038916?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 9, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;There could be connections with video games and social media.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>He said the NIH is &ldquo;initiating studies to look at the correlation and the potential connection between over-medicating our kids and this violence.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy didn&rsquo;t duck. He didn&rsquo;t play politics. He said what millions of people already know, which is that America&rsquo;s problem is not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/report-trump-admin-considering-banning-transgenders-owning-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the gun<\/a>. It is the soul of the person holding it.<\/p>\n<p>So many young people have no respect for life and community that once held families together.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/poll-two-thirds-democrats-now-view-socialism-favorably-americans-view-capitalism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democrats<\/a> could outlaw firearms, and people bent on committing mass murder would still find ways to kill.<\/p>\n<p>Scapegoating the Second Amendment is a tried-and-true method for Democrats and the legacy media. Both are curiously opposed to controlling violent thugs by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/female-nyp-reporter-furious-punk-sucker-punched-reportedly-1-bail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">imprisoning them<\/a>, so they can&rsquo;t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/play-play-video-leads-murder-iryna-zarutska-reporters-last-sentence-jaw-dropping\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kill innocent women on public trains<\/a> and elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Many conservatives, including this writer, were skeptical of Kennedy running HHS. But he might be the only former lifelong Democrat who would answer a baited question about firearms with sincerity and facts &mdash; not rhetoric.<\/p>\n<p>He did not take refuge in a platitude or use the moment to attack law-abiding Americans.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, he called attention to what really changed in society, which has been the introduction of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/zg-antidepressants-can-cause-emotional-dullness-study\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">psychiatric drugs<\/a>, new technology, and other potential factors.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s also worth noting that we live in a culture that has stripped God from the public square.<\/p>\n<p>But as Kennedy alluded to, a gun is no more dangerous than a paperweight until it is in the hands of someone whose heart is dark.<\/p>\n<p>That is not a partisan truth.
