Vance<\/a> led with 35.6 percent.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Other&rdquo; candidates received 18.3 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/thomas-massie-fire-sounds-alarm-real-laws-trump-wants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thomas Massie<\/a> of Kentucky followed with 17.4 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of State <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rubio-kicks-palestinian-leaders-curb-ahead-un-assembly-revokes-visas-terrorism-ties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marco Rubio<\/a> came in at 11.1 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Trump landed at 9.8 percent &mdash; just shy of double digits.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Florida Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ron-desantis-objects-former-speaker-house-jumps-florida-gubernatorial-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ron DeSantis<\/a> rounded out the group with 7.8 percent.<\/p>\n<p>That showing for Trump reflects some serious staying power. After all, Trump ushered in a new era for conservative leadership and changed the rules regarding how the game is played.<\/p>\n<p>Gone are the days of playing defense and hoping to be liked by a legacy media that loathes America&rsquo;s history and values. Luckily, we are still in the first year of another term.<\/p>\n<p>But the big story here is Vance, who captured more than a third of the vote.<\/p>\n<p>This was an unscientific straw poll of a small sample, but it <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >echoes broader national findings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/new-poll-pits-vance-newsom-battleground-states-results-look-promising-vp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> on a Plymouth Union Public Research <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2025\/09\/04\/exclusive-poll-jd-vance-thrashing-gavin-newsom-five-seven-swing-states-2028-matchup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a> that tested Vance against Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom in a 2028 matchup across battleground states.<\/p>\n<p>Vance prevailed 51 percent to 49 percent, taking five of seven battleground states. He also won over nine percent of Democrats, while Newsom drew seven percent of Republicans across the aisle.<\/p>\n<p>Favorability numbers also tilted his way.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-seven percent viewed him very favorably, compared to 21 percent for Newsom in the way-too-early poll.<\/p>\n<p>CNN&rsquo;s Harry Enten recently said Vance&rsquo;s odds of being the nominee looked &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/is-j-d-vance-a-lock-for-2028-cnns-data-guru-says-things-are-looking-darn-good-for-the-vp\/\" title=\"Is J.D. Vance a Lock for 2028?
