Myles said in giving his reason for the cameras.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Hamilton city officials are telling him they must come down. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chch.com\/chch-news\/city-of-hamilton-orders-resident-to-take-down-10-security-cameras-from-his-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CHCH<\/a> reached out to former Privacy Commissioner of Ontario Ann Cavoukian, who gave an explanation for the decision.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Privacy is extremely important, it forms the foundation of our freedom, so to go about filming everyone without their knowledge or consent I find very unacceptable,&rdquo; Jane Yates, who lives nearby, said of Myles for taking initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Although police did not confirm to CHCH that they used Myles&rsquo; footage previously, they said the department works with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/video-cops-search-man-visiting-pro-trump-homes-leaving-disgusting-memento-innocent-homeowners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">homeowners<\/a> in various ways to catch criminals by using footage. Myles posts his break-ins he records online.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I got a notice from by-law and I thought &lsquo;How could this be,&rsquo;&rdquo; he said after getting the news.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Everybody has Ring doorbells pointed at the street, and my neighbors have cameras pointed at my house, and we all point cameras at each other.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, Myles felt the city was not doing enough, so he took matters into his own hands.<\/p>\n<p>Now he is being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-announces-capital-capital-punishment-plan-no-choice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">punished<\/a> for it.<\/p>\n<p>If Hamilton police had promised to increase their presence in compensation to Myles and his neighbors after leaving him without his cameras, that would be one thing, but they&rsquo;re simply telling him to leave himself vulnerable because he&rsquo;s in violation of a by-law.<\/p>\n<p>Government &mdash; not just in Canada but also the United States &mdash; has forgotten its function as &ldquo;by the people, for the people.&rdquo; The good-natured, peaceful residents of Hamilton wish to hold criminals accountable, but the city would rather side with those criminals. They are <em>not<\/em> for the people, opting to support lunatics and real lawbreakers.<\/p>\n<p>This is another example of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >liberal government run amok<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hoover Institute Senior Fellow Victor Davis Hanson has consistently noted that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/sick-leftist-protesters-target-jd-vance-pays-respects-site-catholic-school-shooting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the left<\/a> is fond of humanity in the abstract sense but despises people in reality.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton is exemplary of that mentality in crippling Myles.<\/p>\n<p>It is a small wonder Americans are fleeing blue states when they see similarly backwards policies play out among their own officials. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/california-suffers-exodus-over-200000-americans-leave-state-one-year-2004043#:~:text=More%20Americans%20left%20California%20between%202023%20and%202024,loss%20in%20the%20country%20over%20the%20past%20year.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newsweek<\/a>, more Americans left California than any other state from 2023 to 2024, with 239,575 residents fleeing to other parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Doing so, they ironically bring support for those very policies to their new homes.
