New Mexico has become the first U.S. state to offer universal free child care<\/a> to all families, nonetheless of income. Building on an existing program that provided free child care to thousands, the state plans to expand this initiative starting in November. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham emphasized that universal child care<\/a> supports family stability<\/a>, workforce participation, and long-term prosperity.
