She underwent surgery to remove bullet fragments and a decompressive hemicraniectomy to relieve brain pressure, with a third surgery planned to replace part of her skull. Despite her injuries, Lydia has started walking and talking again. The family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover medical expenses and ongoing care,raising nearly $381,000 so far. the family reported in the GoFundMe appeal.
