Following the incident, multiple GoFundMe campaigns appeared online attempting to raise funds for brown&#8217;s legal defense, sparking widespread outrage and debate on social media due to his criminal background and the victim&#8217;s status as a war refugee. GoFundMe removed these fundraisers citing violations of their policy against supporting legal defenses for violent crime charges. For the man accused of killing her.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/3796607\/gofundme-takes-down-fundraisers-north-carolina-stabbing-suspect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Examiner<\/a>, while the fundraising platform has taken those fundraisers down, the fact that they were multiple campaigns that sprung up to take donations for Brown &mdash; who had 14 previous court cases and was out despite a judge ordering a mental evaluation on him due to a charge levied in January &mdash; raised questions on social media about the grift and grievance associated with the case.<\/p>\n<p>Brown, who is black, is reported to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-trumps-personally-case-learning-evil-murder-ukrainian-refugee-lunatic-14-court-cases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">killed Zarutska<\/a>, a white Ukrainian war refugee, without apparent reason on Aug. 22.<\/p>\n<p>The video of the stabbing showed him visibly emotional and uncomfortable in his seat on the Charlotte light rail when Zarutska came on and sat in front of him. He&rsquo;s facing a first-degree murder charge. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/local\/charlotte\/2025\/09\/04\/light-rail-stabbing-mecklenburg-district-attorney-merriweather-mental-health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Axios<\/a>, &ldquo;Even Brown&rsquo;s mother has blamed the courts for allowing her son to be out in the community.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Brown was released from jail without bond in January for misusing 911. He claimed he was given &lsquo;man-made&rsquo; material, controlling when he ate, walked and talked,&rdquo; the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In July, Brown&rsquo;s public defender questioned his ability to proceed in his court case. In fact, over the past decade or so, it&rsquo;s become impossible to tell those things apart.<\/p>\n<p>What is clear, however, is that these fundraisers ran afoul of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/notoriously-woke-gofundme-skimming-mind-blowing-amount-money-la-fire-donations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GoFundMe&rsquo;s<\/a> guidelines and that, on the same day the outrage started, the fundraisers were shut down.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;GoFundMe&rsquo;s Terms of Service explicitly prohibit fundraisers that raise money for the legal defense of anyone formally charged with an alleged violent crime. Consistent with this long-standing policy, this fundraiser has been removed from the platform and the donors who contributed to the fundraiser have been fully refunded,&rdquo; a GoFundMe spokesperson told the Examiner.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s again unclear how much was donated; neither the Examiner nor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/gofundme-decarlos-brown-jr-fundraiser-iryna-zarutska-north-carolina-train-2126159\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newsweek<\/a>, which also reported on the fundraisers, seemed to have a dollar amount of how much was given when they were shuttered.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that <em>anyone<\/em> donated to these campaigns should come as no surprise, however. When you think of the transparent grift of BLM &mdash; &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/marxist-blm-co-founder-bought-4-homes-rejects-hypocrisy-says-supporting-family\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">build larger mansions<\/a>,&rdquo; it became pejoratively known as &mdash; it&rsquo;s only a step away from reflexively giving cash to cause for a career criminal whose actions were blamed on systemic injustice.<\/p>\n<p>After all, why not? Who cares where the cash is going? It certainly isn&rsquo;t going to Brown, as anyone who&rsquo;s paid attention to the case or the race-grievance racket should immediately grasp. It also isn&rsquo;t going to any organization that will fix the problem. Thankfully, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gofundme-cancels-campaign-offered-pay-nyt-reporter-says-dc-low-crime-walk-horrible-neighborhoods-alone-night-filming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GoFundMe<\/a> stopped it from further engorging the amply-lined pockets of faux-SJWs who&rsquo;ll make a buck off of anything. The fact it even could should worry us deeply, as it&rsquo;s the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/elons-trans-son-gives-raging-response-musk-says-killed-woke-mind-virus-slightly-autistic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">woke mind virus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Also thankfully, it&rsquo;s worth noting that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/in-loving-memory-of-iryna\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GoFundMe<\/a> for Zarutska&rsquo;s family is actually going strong, with almost all of its $80,000 goal raised.
