The Fifteenth Court of Appeals has reversed a previous decision and reinstated restraining orders against former U.S.Representative Beto O’Rourke, his association Powered by People, and affiliated groups including ActBlue. These orders,initially issued by a Tarrant county judge,prohibit O’Rourke and his associates from fundraising efforts related to supporting texas House Democrats who fled the state in protest of a redistricting law. The case arose after O’Rourke continued to raise millions despite the restraining orders, leading Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to file a contempt motion. The appeals court had temporarily halted enforcement<\/a> of the restraining orders, but after criticism from Paxton and public backlash, the court reinstated the orders pending further review. O’Rourke denies wrongdoing, faces criminal contempt<\/a> and bribery allegations, and has incurred significant legal expenses<\/a>. He maintains his innocence and urges supporters to persist in their efforts.
