a DOJ source reportedly told DW senior reporter Mary Margaret Olohan.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-652684187\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>A blanket <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MaryMargOlohan\/status\/1963627143180472565\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;trans&rdquo;<\/a> gun ban is a dicey, not to mention unnecessary, move. Taking away firearms never has and never will <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/09\/leftists-explain-tragedy-with-fake-narratives-because-their-idols-offer-no-explanation-or-remedy-for-evil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">remedy the evil<\/a> that possesses someone to shoot up a school, church, or other public place. It certainly won&rsquo;t course-correct the culture or medical establishments that routinely feed people&rsquo;s gender delusions.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, all it does is play into the hands of prayer scoffers who dominate the blue party. The anonymous DOJ source quoted in the article acknowledged that fact by reportedly claiming &ldquo;Democrats have called for common sense gun laws for a long time.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This seems pretty common sense to me,&rdquo; the source allegedly added.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats would love nothing more than to bring more Republicans into their scheme to deprive law-abiding Americans of their Second Amendment rights. But a ban like the one the DOJ is supposedly discussing, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/08\/28\/we-dont-need-gun-control-we-need-to-classify-gender-dysphoria-as-a-mental-illness-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">as I&rsquo;ve previously written<\/a>, is wholly unnecessary under the gun laws we already have.<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.atf.gov\/firearms\/docs\/4473-part-1-firearms-transaction-record-over-counter-atf-form-53009\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">4473 transaction record<\/a>, which is&nbsp;required for any gun purchase from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/court-declares-laws-banning-handgun-sales-to-people-under-21-unconstitutional\/\" title=\"Court Declares Laws Banning Handgun Sales To ... Under 21 Unconstitutional\">federally licensed firearms dealer<\/a>, asks a potential buyer whether he has &ldquo;ever been adjudicated as a mental defective OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution?&rdquo; Anyone who has been &ldquo;formally committed to a mental institution by court, board, commission or other lawful authority&rdquo; involuntarily for &ldquo;mental defectiveness or mental illness&rdquo; or other reasons such as &ldquo;drug use&rdquo; is barred from buying a firearm.<\/p>\n<p>There is a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/08\/28\/we-dont-need-gun-control-we-need-to-classify-gender-dysphoria-as-a-mental-illness-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">long history <\/a>of both <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >medical organizations classifying gender delusion<\/a> as a mental disorder and cultures shunning the deviant behavior that often accompanies it. That all changed, however, in the last decade, especially when key institutions shifted away from addressing the open desire to masquerade as the opposite sex&nbsp;as a problem to not just accommodate it, but also promote it.<\/p>\n<p>The White House&rsquo;s open embrace of the Make America Healthy Again suggests it is focused on treating root causes, not just symptoms. That same dogma should apply to the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/13\/lets-talk-about-the-gender-poisoned-mass-shooter-trend-the-media-is-trying-to-hide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rise in violence from gender-bending individuals.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration has made <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2018\/03\/02\/donald-trump-sells-right-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">missteps<\/a> on the Second Amendment before, and it can&rsquo;t afford to do it again. Banning guns for certain people, instead of focusing on enforcing the mental illness prohibitions already on the books, should not be within the &ldquo;range of options&rdquo; Attorney General Pam Bondi is willing to consider in the wake of the Annunciation shooting in August. <\/p>\n<p>Instead, the Republican administration should put its time and effort into further preventing the indulgence of gender dysphoria by parents, government agencies, schools, and other organizations plagued by the leftist-led&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/diana_nerozzi\/status\/1961038151352188975\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brainwashing<\/a> that no doubt led to last week&rsquo;s tragedy.
