Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance, visited Annunciation Church in Minneapolis on September 3, 2025, shortly after a tragic shooting during the school’s opening Mass that left two children dead and 17 others injured. Upon their arrival to pay respects by laying flowers at a vigil outside the church, they were met by protesters demanding stronger gun laws and the protection of children’s lives. Protesters shouted phrases like “You’re a coward” and “Do better,” held signs calling<\/a> for common-sense gun legislation<\/a>, and displayed a rainbow flag. The vances did not respond to the protesters. This visit followed a previous campaign speech by JD Vance about the harsh reality of school shootings in America and the need to be prepared for such violence.
