Robert Garcia of California said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2025\/09\/02\/epstein-files-released-oversight-committee-comer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;To the American people &mdash; don&rsquo;t let this fool you,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement came as members of the House are dueling over a discharge petition that would bring to the House floor legislation calling for every <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ghislaine-maxwell-reveals-thinks-epstein-died\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Epstein file<\/a> held by the government to be released within 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>Reps. Thomas Massie, a Kentucky Republican, and Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, need 218 signatures on the petition to bring the bill to the floor.
