\t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>Another reason is that some blue states have more congressional districts than they should, due to flawed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/library\/stories\/2022\/05\/2020-census-undercount-overcount-rates-by-state.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2020 Census results<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In early August, President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/leftists-lose-trump-announces-plan-new-census-different-rules\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ordered<\/a> his administration to conduct a new census to get a more accurate count.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;People who are in our Country illegally WILL NOT BE COUNTED IN THE CENSUS,&rdquo; the president added in a social media post.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to Trump&rsquo;s plan, Todd, a conservative, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aol.com\/just-fact-brad-todd-schools-161415958.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> Bolduan on CNN last month, &ldquo;In fact, we know the 2020 census, the errors were almost always to the detriment of red states.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Do we know that?&rdquo; Bolduan pushed back.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We do know that. The Census Bureau&rsquo;s own audit of its work has proven that,&rdquo; Todd answered.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">&#128680;ALERT: Political commentator Brad Todd drops a bombshell, saying, &ldquo;In fact, we know the 2020 census, the errors were almost always to the detriment of red states.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>CNN host: &ldquo;Do we know that?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Todd: &ldquo;We do know that. Rhode Island then didn&rsquo;t lose a seat,&rdquo; he noted. &ldquo;Red states like Alabama were undercounted.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Fact check: True.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/library\/stories\/2022\/05\/2020-census-undercount-overcount-rates-by-state.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Census report<\/a> released in 2022 concluded that six states were undercounted. They included Arkansas (-5.04 percent), Florida (-3.48), Illinois (-1.97), Mississippi (-4.11), Tennessee (-4.78), and Texas (-1.92).<\/p>\n<p>What do all but one of those undercounted states have in common? They&rsquo;re red.<\/p>\n<p>And the overcounts occurred in Delaware (+5.45), Hawaii (+6.79), Massachusetts (+2.24), Minnesota (+3.84), New York (+3.44), Ohio (+1.49), Rhode Island (+5.05), and Utah (+2.59).<\/p>\n<p>What do six of the eight states have in common? They&rsquo;re blue.<\/p>\n<p>Former Federal Election Commission member Hans von Spakovsky wrote in a 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/election-integrity\/commentary\/census-bureau-admits-overcounting-7-blue-states-just-1-red-state\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piece<\/a> for the Heritage Foundation, &ldquo;Those costly errors will distort congressional representation and the Electoral College.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It means that when the Census Bureau reapportioned the House of Representatives, Florida was cheated out of two additional seats it should have gotten; Texas missed out on another seat; Minnesota and Rhode Island each kept a representative they shouldn&rsquo;t have; and Colorado was awarded a new member of the House it didn&rsquo;t deserve,&rdquo; he added.<\/p>\n<p>So Trump is right.
