Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, along with Agriculture commissioner Tyler Harper, First Lady Marty Kemp, and members of the Georgia Department of Economic Progress, is currently on an economic development trip<\/a> to South America, visiting Argentina and Brazil. The mission aims to promote economic development opportunities and strengthen international business relationships<\/a> that support job creation<\/a> in Georgia. this delegation plans to meet with key companies, including Brazilian firm JBS, which recently announced a $400 million investment in a facility in LaFayette, Georgia, expected to create 630 jobs. Since Kemp took office,businesses operating in Brazil have generated over a thousand jobs for Georgians,notably in agriculture,georgia’s top industry.<\/p>\n

The trip is part of ongoing efforts to facilitate trade and investment, with Georgia exporting $748 million worth of products to Brazil in 2024. The delegation will also engage with military officials through the Department of Defense State Partnership Program, meeting with leaders from the Georgia National Guard and their Argentinian counterparts to support shared security objectives. economic development travel is supported by the state budget, with officials receiving reimbursements for their expenses, emphasizing Georgia’s commitment to fostering global economic connections and maintaining its competitive edge in key markets.
