The FBI will continue to provide updates on our ongoing investigation with the public as we are able,&rdquo; Patel said.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/minnesota-school-shooting-suspect-robin-westman\/story?id=125029777\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC<\/a>, Westman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-orders-american-flags-flown-half-staff-worldwide-trans-attack-catholic-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">changed his name<\/a> in 2020, with his name change application stating that he &ldquo;identifies as a female and wants her name to reflect that identification.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kare11.com\/article\/news\/local\/shooter-identified-in-minneapolis-catholic-school-shooting\/89-bafd06bc-fafe-4187-ae44-64ed0b2fd138\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KARE-TV<\/a>, Westman&rsquo;s mother worked at Annunciation School until she retired from there in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The station said it was believed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-transgender-catholic-school-shooting-suspect-scrawled-anti-trump-message-gun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Westman<\/a> &ldquo;attended the school for at least one year and had visited the school in the last week while teachers prepared for the upcoming school year.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The station said YouTube videos posted to an account linked to Westman about 30 minutes after the mayhem began show a document that appears to be a manifesto.<\/p>\n<p>KARE said the text was in Russian, but a translation makes it apparent Westman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-issues-statement-briefed-catholic-school-shooting-please-join-praying\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">planned<\/a> the attack for weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The station said a May 23 section &ldquo;allegedly showed Westman describing an obsession with mass shootings, specifically in schools.
