He&rsquo;s done it with tariffs and trade, immigration, and even amongst warring nations.<\/p>\n<p>This tactic has produced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/apple-ceo-tim-cook-heads-white-house-announce-major-investment-american-manufacturing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hundreds of billions<\/a> of dollars <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trumps-eu-trade-deal-tremendous-american-media-outlets-criticizing-good\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in U.S. investments<\/a> and resulted in several high-profile <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-epic-white-house-trump-peace-deal-meeting-brokering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">peace deals<\/a>. It&rsquo;s also generated greater respect from American <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-gets-nato-chief-admit-us-carried-much-burden-defense-spending-changes-today\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">allies<\/a> and enemies alike.<\/p>\n<p>If Trump were to institute the death penalty in D.C., however, it would immediately be challenged in court. The federal government has a 30-day clock regarding control of the city&rsquo;s police, unless Congress extends it.<\/p>\n<p>If Congress greenlights an extension, Trump could keep his reforms in place and fight any challenges all the way to the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>Or, he could extend federal control without Congress&rsquo; approval and take his chances by arguing that a &ldquo;national emergency&rdquo; dictates further oversight.<\/p>\n<p>Axios <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2025\/08\/13\/trump-dc-police-30-day-extension\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> earlier this month that the commander-in-chief expects Congress to intervene so he won&rsquo;t have to address that issue. But for now, the fate of the city remains up in the air.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the outcome, Trump&rsquo;s plan is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-embarrasses-ap-highest-approval-rating-ever-winning-streak-continues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resonating<\/a> with voters.<\/p>\n<p>A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/apnorc.org\/projects\/most-say-crime-is-a-major-problem-in-americas-cities-but-few-support-a-federal-takeover-of-police-departments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poll<\/a> conducted by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research showed Trump having a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-embarrasses-ap-with-highest-approval-rating-ever-as-winning-streak-continues\/\" title=\"... Rating Ever as Winning Streak Continues\">45 percent nationwide approval rating<\/a>, representing the best numbers he&rsquo;s had from this survey throughout his entire presidency.<\/p>\n<p>It also showed a whopping 55 percent of respondents think it&rsquo;s &ldquo;acceptable for the U.S. military and National Guard to assist local police in large cities,&rdquo; while 80 percent of Americans believe crime continues to be a major issue in large cities.<\/p>\n<p>These victories are merely a result of common sense, decisive judgment, and a projection of strength.
