\t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>The book that was actually pulled from schools was &ldquo;Anne Frank&rsquo;s Diary: The Graphic Adaptation&rdquo; by Ari Folman.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/product-reviews\/1101871792\/ref=acr_dp_hist_1?ie=UTF8&amp;filterByStar=one_star&amp;reviewerType=all_reviews#reviews-filter-bar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reviews<\/a> of that book show it was not just a retelling, but an inappropriate distortion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-violent-jew-hunt-breaks-anne-franks-hometown-shocking-despicable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Frank&rsquo;s<\/a> life that downplays <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/poll-shocker-20-gen-z-think-holocaust-myth-28-believe-jews-much-power-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Holocaust<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One reviewer wrote: &ldquo;This adaptation fails epicly on two major fronts. Firstly, it does not align with the actual diary written by Anne Frank and other well <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/denaturalize-and-deport-zohran-mamdani-for-immigration-fraud\/\" title=\"Denaturalize And Deport Zohran Mamdani For Immigration Fraud\">documented historical facts<\/a> of the period. Secondly, the heavy focus of sexually related content makes one wonder if the writer and illustrator had an agenda they wanted to push rather than adhering to the truth of the story.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Another added: &ldquo;I was stunned to see the sexually explicit descriptions she wrote that are NOT in the versions kids are used to reading.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>A different review reads: &ldquo;The book goes into detail about women&rsquo;s genitalia. It talks about a situation where Anne wanted to show her breasts to a female friend. I am no prude, but this is not something that should be taught in a classroom. I am against banning books. Read that again. I am, however, against this being taught as a class novel.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Yet another stated: &ldquo;This book is telling children that Anne Frank was a LESBIAN! The book is super inappropriate!! Too much sexual content.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In a response to Wiener&rsquo;s phony claim, many also noted that the book actually downplayed the systematic extermination of Jews by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/marco-rubio-gives-cbs-margaret-brennan-history-lesson-targets-jd-vance-insane-claim-nazis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nazis<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This didn&rsquo;t happen. Indeed, the book is on the mandatory reading list, as is the topic of the Holocaust more broadly. He was corrected, mocked, and exposed, but still would not retract his statement.<\/p>\n<p>In short, Wiener landed himself in the position of defending a graphic novel that minimizes the Holocaust, paints Frank as a lesbian, and sexualizes her &mdash; all while implying that conservatives are anti-Semitic.<\/p>\n<p>What a disgraceful person.
