We have to show that at this age?&rdquo; he asked.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Lightyear&rdquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/disneys-woke-lightyear-tanks-us-box-office-mainstream-media-cant-seem-figure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flopped at the box office<\/a>, earning $226 million worldwide on a reported $200 million budget.<\/p>\n<p>Factoring in marketing and other expenses, the film lost money for the studio that, up until that point, was churning out winners.<\/p>\n<p>Pixar executive Pete Docter later blamed audiences for the film&rsquo;s performance in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/pete-docter-interview-pixar-lightyear-toy-story-5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an interview<\/a> with TheWrap.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve done a lot of soul-searching about that because we all love the movie,&rdquo; the company&rsquo;s chief creative officer said.<\/p>\n<p>Dcoter added, &ldquo;We love the characters and the premise.
