They received a notice of fines on Thursday night, totaling several thousand dollars.<\/p>\n<p>The Texas House of Representatives gaveled in on Monday with the quorum required following the absent Democrats&rsquo; return to the Lone Star State.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Republican legislators then successfully <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-texas-house-republicans-successfully-pass-redistricting-map\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moved legislation<\/a> through the House Wednesday, redrawing the state&rsquo;s congressional districts.<\/p>\n<p>The approval of the Texas map was on an 88-52 party-line vote.<\/p>\n<p>The new map may net the GOP up to five additional congressional seats in the 2026 midterm elections.
