Through this agreement, federal departments can use a specialized government version of Google’s Gemini AI chatbot for just $0.47 per agency until 2026. This initiative aligns with the Trump administration’s efforts to accelerate AI adoption across government sectors and maintain technological leadership globally.

GSA Acting Administrator Michael Rigas praised the deal as part of the administration’s push to integrate advanced AI tools into federal operations. This contract follows similar agreements within the Department of Defense, which recently partnered with AI companies like Anthropic,OpenAI,and xAI,each receiving considerable funding. Google CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted that Gemini for Government offers federal agencies access to a comprehensive AI innovation platform, leveraging secure cloud infrastructure and advanced AI models to support their missions.

In addition to Google, other tech leaders such as OpenAI and Oracle are also providing AI solutions to government agencies at deeply reduced costs, further embedding AI technologies into federal operations. This broader movement reflects a strategic national focus on advancing AI capabilities within the public sector.

Trump’s GSA seals major Google contract offering Gemini AI to agencies for $0.47

The General Services Administration announced Wednesday a deal with Google that will allow government agencies to access the tech company’s artificial intelligence products at a markedly discounted rate.

Federal departments will have access to a specialized government version of Google’s Gemini chatbot at the discounted price of $0.47 per agency through 2026.

Recommended Stories

Bed Bath & Beyond chairman laments getting ‘rejected’ by Newsom

Redistricting would split cities, counties throughout CA

Trump again ponders his afterlife: ‘Some kind of report card up there someplace’

“Federal agencies can now significantly transform their operations by using the tools in ‘Gemini for Government’, thanks to this agreement with Google and the Trump Administration’s leadership revolutionizing AI for the U.S. government,” GSA acting Administrator Michael Rigas said in a statement praising President Donald Trump’s push to incentivize the public and private sectors to embrace AI.

“GSA is dedicated to rapidly achieving President Trump’s goals to accelerate AI adoption across government, and this agreement with Google is the latest success in meeting that goal,” Rigas continued.

The new contract marks the latest step in AI becoming embedded in government after the Pentagon recently announced a deal with X’s Grok.
