While health authorities continue surveillance, the threat is considered contained.<\/p>\n<p>The article criticizes the media for sensationalizing the outbreak and pushing political narratives rather than investigating root causes, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >increased border crossings<\/a> from regions with measles outbreaks. Media outlets also targeted public figures like Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. return false;\" title=\"Printer Friendly, PDF &amp; Email\"><span id=\"printfriendly-text2\" class=\"pf-button-text\"><i class=\"mdi mdi-printer\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>The West Texas measles outbreak that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-where-are-the-adults-ted-cruz-to-release-video-highlighting-recent-failures-under-biden\/\" title=\"EXCLUSIVE: \u2018Where Are The Adults?\u2019 \u2014 Ted Cruz To Release Video Highlighting Recent Failures Under Biden\">corporate media claimed<\/a> would be the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2025\/03\/21\/texas-measles-vaccine-new-mexico-oklahoma-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">start of a national epidemic<\/a> is officially over just eight months after it began.<\/p>\n<p>The Texas Department of State Health Services (TX DSHS), the agency responsible for publishing Lone Star State health statistics, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dshs.texas.gov\/news-alerts\/texas-announces-end-west-texas-measles-outbreak\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> on Aug. 18 that the measles outbreak that affected areas of West Texas, including Gaines County, is no longer.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-503832687\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The virus that ran its course in more than seven hundred people, mostly children, in the Mennonite and surrounding communities since January appears to have lost its virulence in the area. As TX DSHS reported, more than 42 days have elapsed since a &ldquo;new case was reported in any of the counties that previously showed evidence of ongoing transmission.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>While DSHS committed to continuing its surveillance of the region because &ldquo;the end of this outbreak does not mean the threat of measles is over,&rdquo; the department conceded that without more cases, there was no reason it should keep updating its interactive outbreak dashboard.<\/p>\n<p>The conclusion of the measles explosion is good news for Texans and Americans but doesn&rsquo;t bode well for the corporate media. After all, it was coverage of the case count in places like Seminole, Texas, that dominated headlines at the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Just like the corporate media spent the duration of Covid <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/03\/18\/no-amount-of-crocodile-tears-can-erase-corporate-medias-complicity-in-covid-scandal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">misleading Americans<\/a>, however, outlets were more concerned with peddling leftist narratives about measles than digging into the reasons it suddenly surged.<\/p>\n<p>They ignored the effect <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/01\/03\/why-isnt-vaxx-tyrant-joe-biden-worried-about-the-polio-leprosy-and-measles-apparently-seeping-through-the-border\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">four years of unfettered border crossings<\/a> from countries that deal with measles outbreaks on the regular meant for measles in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-attorney-general-to-sue-biden-admin-over-illegal-deportation-freeze\/\" title=\"... Attorney General to Sue Biden Admin Over \u201cIllegal Deportation Freeze\u201d\">border state<\/a> like Texas and instead <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2025\/02\/28\/texas-measles-abbott-lawmakers-response\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">criticized<\/a> &ldquo;Texas leaders&rdquo; for being &ldquo;quiet amid measles crisis.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Media also crucified Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for failing to fall for their blown-out-of-proportion bait. In one article, The New York Times even accused Kennedy of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/02\/26\/us\/texas-measles-outbreak-death.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;downplay[ing]&rdquo;<\/a> the outbreak even though, as <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/07\/21\/heres-what-the-corporate-media-wont-tell-you-about-rising-measles-cases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">we noted in these very pages<\/a>, six months into the alleged crisis, there were only&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/measles-outbreak-us-texas-mmr-vaccine-rfk-144ed193e13de675a750e52a505423e9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">35 more<\/a>&nbsp;reported measles cases than the total number recorded in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the worst coverage, however, came from outlets that claimed Americans&rsquo; decisions to opt their children out of certain vaccines would exacerbate the crisis and even cause the death toll to rise.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post, which spent paragraphs droning on about how the &ldquo;scientifically false claims of the anti-vaccine movement have seeped into communities,&rdquo; referred to this exercise in self-governance as <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/OYM4K\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;vaccine resistance.&rdquo;<\/a> Forbes even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/joshuacohen\/2025\/02\/18\/widening-measles-outbreak-in-texas-signals-problem-with-vaccine-uptake\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">painted<\/a> the lower vaccination rate in the afflicted communities, whose members&rsquo; convictions about jabs are likely religious and far pre-dated RFK Jr.&rsquo;s rise in popularity, as a &ldquo;problem.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Yes, measles is highly contagious and could pose a problem to those with vulnerable immune systems. The virus never was, however, the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/this-is-how-measles-can-kill-texas-new-mexico-outbreak-vaccines-vitamin-a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> killing machine that the media made it out to be<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The media&rsquo;s treatment of the Texas measles flare-up doesn&rsquo;t hold a candle to the censorship, lying, and propaganda that laced their Covid coverage.
