to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/larry-elder-gerrymandering-obama-vs-obama\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">redistrict<\/a> while addressing Capehart.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I fully grant you that Trump started it, so I&rsquo;m not saying it&rsquo;s totally morally equivalent, but there&rsquo;s a moral stain,&rdquo; Brooks said.<\/p>\n<p>He then predicted a coming &ldquo;loss of faith in democracy, and literally less democracy.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Brooks added, &ldquo;Because if you are a Texas voter or a California voter, if New York does it or Missouri does it, all the states that are going to do this, you are literally disenfranchising people because you can pick the district so carefully that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/harris-can-pick-and-choose-issues-tell-voters-what-they-want-to-hear-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Harris can \u2018pick and choose\u2019 issues, tell voters \u2018what they want to hear\u2019 - Washington Examiner\">voters don&#038;rsquo<\/a>;t matter so much.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>This is The New York Times&rsquo;s so-called conservative spinning the truth and equating fairness in representation to genocide.<\/p>\n<p>Illinois <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/illinois-gov-admits-states-congressional-map-looks-like-drawn-kindergarten-class\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gerrymandered<\/a> itself into one-party rule years ago. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/illinois-governor-protecting-runway-texas-dems-stumped-nbc-host-calls-hypocrisy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democrats<\/a> there hold 82 percent of congressional seats with only 37.7 percent of registered voters, <a href=\"https:\/\/independentvoterproject.org\/voter-stats\/il\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to<\/a> the Independent Voter Project.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Illinois is one of the most gerrymandered state in the nation and it isn&#8217;t close. Democrats hold all nine House seats despite Trump winning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2024-election\/results\/massachusetts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">37 percent<\/a> of the vote.<\/p>\n<p>Connecticut? Democrats hold all five seats with Trump at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2024-election\/results\/connecticut\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">41.9 percent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>New Mexico? Democrats hold all three, with Trump at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2024-election\/results\/new-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">45.9 percent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Yet Brooks never equated the Democrats behind the maps to war criminals.<\/p>\n<p>This PBS segment, and the fact that no one pushed back on Brooks, is why Republicans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-npr-pbs-funder-shut-following-trump-cuts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fought to end<\/a> taxpayer funding for the network.<\/p>\n<p>PBS was once an important part of the country&rsquo;s discourse, and it actually made programming that educated children.<\/p>\n<p>The most absurd part of Brooks&rsquo; comments is the fact that the official PBS X account <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PBS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claims<\/a>, &ldquo;PBS&rsquo;s editorial independence is central to our work and will never change.
