Commission Nominee\">interstate natural gas pipeline<\/a> project by Transwestern Pipeline Company, which will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-mulling-sanctions-over-nord-stream-2-pipeline\/\" title=\"White House mulling sanctions over Nord Stream 2 ...\">transport natural gas<\/a> from west Texas into Arizona.The Chamber&#8217;s president and CEO, Danny Seiden, highlighted the economic benefits, including lower construction and labor costs, as well as the advantage of more affordable energy for residents and manufacturers in a rapidly growing state. Seiden emphasized natural gas as a cleaner and cheaper energy source compared to alternatives, serving as a reliable bridge until renewable technologies like wind and solar become more viable.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this support, environmental groups such as the Sierra Club oppose the pipeline, arguing that expanding fossil fuel infrastructure locks in reliance on polluting energy sources, inhibiting the transition to clean energy. Seiden countered by stating that Arizona is careful to balance economic growth with environmental stewardship,noting that even conservative leaders value preservation of state lands for recreation.<\/p>\n<p>The pipeline project has attracted backing not only from the Arizona Chamber but also from various industry groups including the Arizona Farm and Ranch Group,the Arizona Restaurant Association,the Arizona Manufacturers Council,and the Arizona Small Business Association. He said it will allow Arizonans to keep air conditioners running for less money and noted manufacturers will keep making goods at a cheaper price.<\/p>\n<p>Still, environmental groups are not happy with pipelines of any kind. The Sierra Club, for example, envisions &ldquo;a future that is no longer dependent on polluting fossil fuels.&rdquo; To do that, the organization states on its website that &ldquo;we must stop the expansion of fracked methane gas and dirty oil,&rdquo; which are transported via pipelines.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Building and expanding pipelines will further lock us into a future powered by fossil fuels, instead of the clean energy that is readily available now,&rdquo;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sierraclub.org\/issues\/climate\/stop-pipelines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>&nbsp;the Sierra Club.<\/p>\n<p>But Seiden told The Center Square that Arizona is a model state when it comes to balancing environmental impacts with economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve always been good stewards of our land,&rdquo; said Seiden. &ldquo;Even our most far-right conservative elected officials that come out Arizona, one thing they all have in common is they love to be able to use state lands. They love to get out there and camp. They want to be able to get out there for state parks, so all of that is taken very seriously when you look at projects like this.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In May, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin visited Arizona, where he&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/newsreleases\/epa-administrator-zeldin-visits-arizona-meets-az-elected-officials-and-ak-chin-indian\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">praised<\/a>&nbsp;&ldquo;local businesses and community leaders dedicated to providing clean air and economic opportunity&rdquo; for the state.<\/p>\n<p>Seiden was at the event. So was U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Arizonans deserve clean air, but we need the right tools to address pollution without compromising economic growth,&rdquo;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/newsreleases\/epa-administrator-zeldin-visits-arizona-meets-az-elected-officials-and-ak-chin-indian\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>&nbsp;Kelly. &ldquo;I appreciate Administrator Zeldin&rsquo;s commitment to hearing directly from local leaders and finding solutions that give Arizona the resources and flexibility to improve air quality while continuing to create jobs and expand manufacturing.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>That is more reason for Transwestern&rsquo;s new interstate natural gas pipeline, Seiden told The Center Square.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/education\/3500246\/judge-rules-arizona-school-funding-violates-state-constitution\/\">JUDGE RULES ARIZONA SCHOOL FUNDING VIOLATES STATE CONSTITUTION<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Natural gas is a cleaner emission than other forms of energy generation,&rdquo; said Seiden. &ldquo;Wind and solar technology are not there yet.
