The incident deeply affected the small community of about 13,000 people. Police arrived after multiple disconnected 911 calls from a residence around 9:30 p.m. while an officer was speaking to a resident, a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >man suddenly emerged armed<\/a> and fatally shot two officers. Bystanders helped convince the suspect to surrender, and he was taken into custody facing charges of aggravated murder. The Tremonton Garland Police Department released a statement mourning the loss and honoring the fallen officers as heroes. Democrat Says Most Fires Are Started By \u2018Housed Individuals\u2019 After Homeless Man Charged With Arson In Palisades Fire\">man emerged<\/a> from the house with a gun and fatally <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/state-police-officer-shot-dead-stopping-help-motorist-suspect-captured-now-guard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shot the officer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A second officer was then shot to death by the same suspect.<\/p>\n<p>A deputy from the Box Elder County Sheriff&rsquo;s Office who arrived to assist was fired upon as the deputy arrived. The deputy and the K-9 with him were both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/k-9-shot-line-duty-will-enjoy-life-luxury-retirement-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wounded<\/a>; they remained in the vehicle until they could be evacuated. The name of the suspect was not released.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Tragedies like these rock an entire community, state and even nation,&rdquo; the Tremonton Garland Police Department wrote in a release.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;These officers and their families served theirs every day, and they will forever be remembered as heroes.
