The breaches exposed personal information, including birth dates and Social Security numbers, of tens of millions of current and former AT&#038;T account holders. The first breach,revealed in March 2024,affected 73 million customers with data linked to records from 2019 or earlier,while the second breach,disclosed in July,involved hackers accessing a third-party cloud platform containing call and text records of nearly all AT&#038;T mobile customers. following multiple lawsuits consolidated into two class-action cases, the settlement allocates $149 million for the first class and $28 million for the second. If approved by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/small-investors-will-likely-be-the-biggest-losers-of-ftx-collapse\/\" title=\"Small Investors Will Likely Be the Biggest Losers of FTX Collapse\">court hearing scheduled<\/a> for December, affected customers could claim up to $7,500 depending on their losses related to these breaches. Claims must be filed by November 18, 2024, and submitting a claim will waive the right to sue AT&#038;T for these incidents. The data was linked to records from 2019 or before.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/att-admits-network-breached-massive-hack-impacting-nearly-customers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The second breach<\/a> was announced last July and involved hackers accessing a third-party cloud platform and downloading company records.<\/p>\n<p>That data included call and text records from &ldquo;nearly all&rdquo; AT&amp;T mobile customers, CBS News reported.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple lawsuits followed in state and federal courts.
