A higher court ruled that these tariffs will remain in effect pending an appeal,&rdquo; according to the CRFB.<\/p>\n<p>Fox Business host Larry Kudlow asked Treasury Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-scott-bessent-torches-cnns-dana-bash-brings-bunk-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scott Bessent<\/a> to comment on the future of tariffs.<\/p>\n<p>Bessent argued that even if the appeals court rules against Trump&rsquo;s use of tariff authority, the ruling will also likely be stayed pending a review by the U.S. Supreme Court. And SCOTUS probably would not rule on the matter until sometime next year.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The amount of money that&rsquo;s coming in here. I think the more deals we&rsquo;ve done, the more money coming in, it gets harder and harder for SCOTUS to rule against us,&rdquo; the treasury secretary said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Just on the tariff income, I&rsquo;ve been saying $300 billion, but I think we&rsquo;re going to have to substantially revise that up, so well in excess of 1 percent of GDP,&rdquo; Bessent added.<\/p>\n<p>The federal government collected&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/usafacts.org\/answers\/how-much-revenue-does-the-federal-government-collect-from-tariffs\/country\/united-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$77 billion<\/a> in tariff revenue under Biden in 2024.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IgcmRJpE1pc?si=6i-ye1QfVsZTT2aO&amp;start=808\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Following Tuesday&rsquo;s Bureau of Labor Statistics report that inflation came in at 2.7 percent in July, slightly under expectations, Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-takes-victory-lap-inflation-report-vindicates-tariffs-hammers-top-economist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted<\/a> on , &ldquo;It has been proven that even at this late stage, Tariffs have not caused Inflation, or any other problems for America, other than massive amounts of CASH pouring into our Treasury&rsquo;s coffers.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Also, it has been shown that, for the most part, Consumers aren&rsquo;t even paying these Tariffs, it is mostly Companies and Governments, many of them Foreign, picking up the tabs,&rdquo; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s team has successfully negotiated agreements with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/not-trade-deal-biggest-us-history-gut-punch-russia-dont-expect-hear-msm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Union<\/a>, Japan, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, South Korea, Vietnam, and the Philippines, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/trump-trade-deals-tariffis-deadline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>For other nations, he has imposed various tariff rates, often <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c5ypxnnyg7jo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">around 15 percent.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The CRFB concluded the tariffs are &ldquo;producing meaningful deficit reduction.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The group argued, &ldquo;Although there are many legitimate concerns over the tariffs &mdash; including their impact on the economy and the level of uncertainty they are creating &mdash; policymakers should not repeal them without an adequate replacement for the revenue loss.
