Speaking on Fox News&#8217;s *Hannity*, DeSantis claimed the Obama governance influenced the census process to favor Democrats, including in Florida, where he vetoed the state legislature&#8217;s redistricting map and proposed a map he considered fairer. He also criticized California&#8217;s redistricting efforts, calling the state&#8217;s commission a &#8220;ruse&#8221; dominated by Democrats and liberals, and said Governor Gavin Newsom intends to gerrymander even more. They actually even got into Florida, and I had to veto the legislature&rsquo;s map, and I ended up proposing one which was a much fairer map and much better,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis then turned his ire toward the government of California.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;California is gerrymandered. They have a commission, but that&rsquo;s a ruse. They have Democrats on the commission, liberal independents, and liberal Republicans.
