Doug LaMalfa held a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lefties-defend-activists-who-got-tased-after-resisting-arrest-at-mtg-town-hall-this-is-insane\/\" title=\"Lefties Defend Activists Who Got Tased After Resisting Arrest at MTG ...: &#039;This Is Insane&#039;\">town hall &#038;mdash<\/a>; and was drowned out by an uproar of boos from constituents.<\/p>\n<p>When he tried to bring up Medicaid a constituent shouted: &#8220;YOU CUT OUR HEALTH CARE&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9mIq1WJxgY\">pic.twitter.com\/9mIq1WJxgY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; More Perfect Union (@MorePerfectUS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MorePerfectUS\/status\/1955036991415865854?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 11, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script data-cfasync=\"false\" src=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/cdn-cgi\/scripts\/5c5dd728\/cloudflare-static\/email-decode.min.js\"><\/script><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>LaMalfa said the GOP bill makes &ldquo;no cuts to the people themselves&rdquo; benefiting from Medi-Cal and instead roots out &ldquo;waste, fraud, and abuse,&rdquo; a term that the Trump administration has used to describe excessive bloat in the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>Town hall attendees called the House Republican a &ldquo;liar&rdquo; and said &ldquo;healthcare is a human right.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>LaMalfa defended his record and questioned whether yelling was appropriate for the public forum.<\/p>\n<p>The open hostility seen on Monday is reflective of the outrage that Republicans are facing from their constituents over the megabill&rsquo;s cuts to Medicaid and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rep-grothman-pushing-bill-to-exclude-illegal-immigrants-from-federal-assistance-program\/\" title=\"Rep. Grothman pushing bill to exclude illegal immigrants from federal assistance program\">federal assistance programs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Just last week, Rep. Mike Flood (R-NE) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3490897\/mike-flood-booed-town-hall-snap-us-unlimited-money\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"faced pushback\">faced pushback<\/a> at his own town hall after saying he voted to cut  food stamps provided under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We do not have unlimited money in the United States,&rdquo; he said, prompting the audience to boo.<\/p>\n<p>The Congressional Budget Office <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/3496687\/millions-lose-health-insurance-medicaid-food-stamps-gop-tax-bill-cbo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"recently estimated\">recently estimated<\/a> roughly 10 million people, including more than 3.4 million California residents, will lose their Medicaid coverage by 2034. Changes to SNAP benefits are also expected to reduce participation by 2.4 million people per month on average until 2034, according to the nonpartisan agency.<\/p>\n<p>Unruly crowds have attended a number of Republican town halls since Congress started its weekslong summer recess. In May, raucous crowds <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3400671\/mike-lawler-town-hall-ban-filming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"disrupted\">disrupted<\/a> two events held by Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY). The battleground Republican <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3402455\/mike-lawler-blames-democratic-playbook-town-halls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"has said\">has said<\/a> the behavior comes directly from the &ldquo;Democratic playbook,&rdquo; suggesting Democrats are orchestrating the outrage.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;People have a right to come and ask their representatives questions,&rdquo; Lawler said on Fox News&rsquo;s <em>Hannity<\/em> in May. &ldquo;But the fact is, these folks don&rsquo;t want to hear answers. They don&rsquo;t want to know what I have to say or why I may vote the way I vote on a certain issue.
