That same day, Carol&hellip;<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Chief Steven Sund (@ChiefSund) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChiefSund\/status\/1954975181106970823?\">August 11, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>  Sund wrote that he requested <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/forget-120-fbi-agents-trump-prepping-dc-national-guard-finally-pacify-thugs-gang-bangers-crazies-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Guard<\/a> assistance in preparing for the gathering of Congress to certify the results of the November 2020 election &mdash; and officially make Joe Biden the incoming president of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>He wrote that he was turned down by the House sergeant at arms, who answered to Pelosi.<\/p>\n<p>He wrote that he tried again on the day of Jan. 6 as the situation spiraled beyond the control of the Capitol Police officers on hand at the Capitol, but he was delayed by the House and Senate sergeants at arms who were &ldquo;running it up the chain.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>And that &ldquo;chain&rdquo; very much <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nancy-pelosi-claimed-begged-national-guard-help-jan-6-real-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">included Pelosi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sund&rsquo;s story hasn&rsquo;t changed &mdash; he gave essentially the same account to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/sund-riot-national-guard\/2021\/01\/10\/fc2ce7d4-5384-11eb-a817-e5e7f8a406d6_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington Post<\/a> in a report published Jan. 10, 2021 &mdash; when the tear gas had barely dispersed from the Capitol grounds.<\/p>\n<p>In his X post, he also he cited Pelosi&rsquo;s role in maintaining a National Guard presence in the Capitol for the Biden inauguration, and long after &mdash; effectively militarizing the seat of power in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;When I needed assistance, it was denied,&rdquo; he wrote. &ldquo;Yet when it suited you, you ordered fencing topped with concertina wire and surrounded the Capitol with thousands of armed National Guard troops.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>And he had plenty of supporters:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Chief Sund, thank you for clarifying for the American people what really happened on J6.
