One solution may be more home-based palliative care, which is less expensive in the long-term, the report concludes.<\/p>\n<p>It recommends changing Florida law to allow acute care nurse practitioners to work independently in hospices and palliative care facilities.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Authorizing APRNs to practice autonomously would reduce the workload of physicians and costs for hospice and palliative care programs,&rdquo; the report states.<\/p>\n<p>APRN is an acronym for advanced practice registered nurses.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3494030\/florida-redistricting-house-speaker-starts-process\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">FLORIDA HOUSE SPEAKER STARTS PROCESS FOR MID-DECADE REDISTRICTING<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/floridataxwatch.org\/DesktopModules\/EasyDNNNews\/DocumentDownload.ashx?portalid=210&amp;moduleid=39591&amp;articleid=19470&amp;documentid=1243\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Some progress has been made in that area<\/a>, the report states.
