It was last conducted in 2020. A mid-decade census would be unprecedented and have a host of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3491672\/texas-redistricting-map-longterm-legal-showdown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">legal challenges<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The census additionally counts all people living in the United States regardless of legal status.
