Carla Cunningham, Nasif Majeed and Shelly Willingham joining all 71 Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>Partisan voting analyzed against Sideris&rsquo; comments means the party&rsquo;s choice was to approve higher consumer costs. There is criticism of the bill, with analyses from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1-ZU9hz-hVh2gWopla5R1WdHN5uLiEI6L\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">N.C. State University<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nicholasinstitute.duke.edu\/sites\/default\/files\/publications\/memo-potential-removal-interim-targets-nc-carbon-plan.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Duke University<\/a>&nbsp;saying SB266 could mean higher bills for customers because of gas price volatility.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;On the federal side, the preservation of nuclear production tax credits in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-budget-would-finally-defund-planned-parenthood\/\" title=\"GOP Budget Would Finally Defund Planned Parenthood\">final budget reconciliation bill<\/a> was a significant win for our customers,&rdquo; Sideris said. &ldquo;Only well-run, cost-efficient reactors are eligible to receive the credit. Our 11-gigawatt nuclear fleet is the largest regulated fleet in the nation and earned $500 million of PTCs last year for the benefit of our customers. We appreciate the engagement from Congress, the administration, and stakeholders around our shared objective of supporting nuclear energy and lowering customer bills.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In North Carolina, the Power Bill Reduction Act became law last week.
