\t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/trump-reverses-biden-policy-allowing-va-hospitals-perform-abortions.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">noted<\/a> by the Christian Post, the Biden administration had permitted the VA to conduct <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/major-pro-life-organizations-accused-thwarting-bill-recognized-abortion-murder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abortion<\/a> and abortion-related services starting in September 2022, shortly after Roe v. Wade was overturned.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed rule from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-undoes-bidens-abortion-legacy-navy-will-no-longer-pay-sailors-abortions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> administration nevertheless said that the &ldquo;interim final rule was not only inappropriate as a matter of fact but also was legally questionable.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The only time Congress has specifically addressed VA&rsquo;s authority to provide abortions was in 1992 in section 106 of the Veterans Health Care Act of 1992,&rdquo; the proposal added.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;VA&rsquo;s legal authority to &lsquo;un-do&rsquo; the changes made in September 2022 is beyond doubt,&rdquo; it continued.<\/p>\n<p>The reversal on the Biden-era rules is not intended to limit access to true reproductive healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal made clear that the &ldquo;VA has never understood this policy to prohibit providing care to pregnant women in life-threatening circumstances,&rdquo; including ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages, which had been &ldquo;covered under the VA&rsquo;s medical benefits package&rdquo; before the 2022 rule change.<\/p>\n<p>The rule would say that &ldquo;the exclusion for abortion does not apply &lsquo;when a physician certifies that the life of the mother would be endangered if the fetus were carried to term.&#8217;&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration&rsquo;s move to make sure the VA is not performing abortions was celebrated by Republicans on the House Veterans Affairs Committee.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It was wrong that the Biden administration violated settled law in 2022 and began offering abortion services through VA,&rdquo; a <a href=\"https:\/\/veterans.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=7759\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> from the lawmakers said.<\/p>\n<p>The statement called the Biden rule &ldquo;a disastrous policy that was created for political purposes.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/we-pushed-back-hard-and-won-nyt-walks-back-smear-against-babylon-bee-after-legal-threat\/\" title=\"\u2018We Pushed Back Hard And Won\u2019: NYT Walks Back \u2018Smear\u2019 Against Babylon Bee After Legal Threat\">pushed back hard<\/a> on this disastrous policy over the last two years to hold the Biden-Harris administration accountable and protect the lives of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/op-ed-top-pro-life-leader-fails-explain-abortions-rising-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unborn<\/a>,&rdquo; it continued.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s simple &mdash; taxpayers do not want their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/veterans-affairs-submits-rule-proposal-to-end-abortions-at-department-medical-facilities-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"... submits ... proposal to end ...s at ... medical facilities - Washington Examiner\">hard-earned money spent<\/a> on paying for abortions &mdash; and VA&rsquo;s sole focus should always be <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >providing service-connected health care<\/a> and benefits to the veterans they serve,&rdquo; they added. &ldquo;House Republicans, alongside President Trump, will always stand up for the sanctity of life &mdash;
