Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) wrote to President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">Donald Trump<\/a> on Monday to ask that he commute former New York Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/george-santos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">George Santos&rsquo;s<\/a> nearly seven-year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3482743\/george-santos-prison-new-jersey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">prison sentence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Santos began his sentence last month after pleading guilty to money laundering and wire fraud charges, among other things, as part of a plea deal in April. He is sincerely remorseful and has accepted full responsibility for his actions. He would lose support in the House from Republicans who have already capitulated.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Santos was expelled from Congress in 2023 after serving for less than a year in his position.
