These SNAP waivers are just one piece of the MAHA effort,&rdquo; said Rollins. &ldquo;We work so closely together to encourage voluntary commitments to <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >remove artificial food dyes<\/a>, among other things, from our food supply, and together, we are crafting sensical dietary guidelines for Americans that prioritize whole, healthy, and nutritious foods.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Makary praises the effort and how it&rsquo;s bringing the focus back to food and what Americans are feeding their children. &ldquo;Here we are for the first time ever, not just talking about how to fund our broken healthcare system, but how to fix our broken healthcare system by finally getting at the root issue, and that is the health of the population, starting with children,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy also praised the waivers for not forcing taxpayers to pay for unhealthy foods. &ldquo;U.S. taxpayers should not be paying to feed kids foods, the poorest kids in our country, with foods that are going to give them diabetes,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.strongnation.org\/articles\/2006-77-percent-of-american-youth-can-t-qualify-for-military-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">More than 75%<\/a> of American youth between the ages of 17 and 24 are ineligible for military duty due to obesity, poor physical fitness, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-perfect-storm-father-blames-covid-19-isolation-for-12-year-old-sons-suicide\/\" title=\"\u2018A Perfect Storm\u2019: Father Blames COVID-19 Isolation For 12-Year-Old Son\u2019s Suicide\">mental health challenges<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/giving.dukechildrens.org\/stories\/sweet-victory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">more than 350,000<\/a> children have been diagnosed with diabetes, said Rollins.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/immigration\/3484397\/letitia-james-snap-lawsuit-trump-administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"LETITIA JAMES SUES TRUMP ADMINISTRATION OVER ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT SNAP ELIGIBILITY\">LETITIA JAMES SUES TRUMP ADMINISTRATION OVER ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT SNAP ELIGIBILITY<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rollins previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usda.gov\/about-usda\/news\/press-releases\/2025\/06\/10\/secretary-rollins-signs-state-waivers-make-america-healthy-again-removing-unhealthy-foods-snap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">signed waivers<\/a> for Arkansas, Idaho, and Utah in June and for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fns.usda.gov\/newsroom\/usda-0118.25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Indiana, Iowa\">Indiana, Iowa<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/3417085\/nebraska-snap-waiver-ban-soda-energy-drinks-benefits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Nebraska\">Nebraska<\/a> in May.
