This prolonged surge in gun sales began in August 2019,driven by concerns over potential threats to Second Amendment rights,political violence,adn the COVID-19 pandemic. Though, in July, FBI background checks for gun sales dropped below one million for the first time in years, signaling a decrease in demand.NSSF spokesperson Mark Oliva attributes this decline to seasonal trends and growing confidence among gun buyers that their rights are being protected, especially due to President Donald Trump&#8217;s efforts to defend the Second amendment and court rulings favoring gun rights. Last month was the first in years in which FBI background checks on gun sales fell below 1 million, falling short by 21,260.<\/p>\n<p>NSSF spokesman Mark Oliva said, &ldquo;July&rsquo;s figures of 978,731 background checks for the sale of a firearm at retail brings an end to the streak of over 1 million background checks each month that ran for nearly six years. Summer months routinely show lower <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/survey-3-2-million-new-gun-owners-in-first-half-of-2021\/\" title=\"Survey: 3.2 ... In July 2020, the adjusted number was 1,848,307, said NSSF. At that time, COVID-19 had hit hard, and cities were facing violent riots after the death of George Floyd.<\/p>\n<p>Sales remained high, especially in political election years.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Gun control groups are clutching their pearls again. That&rsquo;s been evident in election years.
